I saw Jon speak to a group of students from a neighboring school district. He talked about his disability, as only people call it who don’t know him, and how it is just part of who he is.

The students were on the edge of their seats and, by the end of his talk, did not notice his chair but only saw what a "cool" person he really is. Immediately, I asked him to speak at a conference we hold for freshman with a disability in the county. Again, the students were captured by his message! I wondered, could he move to the next level and speak to a larger (700) and more adult audience? I asked him to speak at the Michigan Transition Services Association state conference. I have to admit, I wondered if he might get stage fright and bomb. I should have known better than to underestimate this young man. He came through with flying colors and a great message as was evident with the standing ovation he received. Jon is an extraordinary young man who will capture your heart and mind immediately. When his talk is done, you will leave feeling as if you can take on the world if only you too can have the same attitude.
